The UVa Writing Center is a writing resource staffed by graduate and undergraduate student writing consultants and available to all UVa students. Our consultants can help you at any stage of your writing process: from getting started through drafting to final revisions. We can help you think about your options for approaching a writing assignment, for developing a thesis statement, for structuring a paragraph or an entire argument, and for incorporating sources. We can talk with you about audience, tone, and sentence-level style. We regularly work with students who bring writing for academic assignments and non-academic projects (such as application letters, personal statements, resumes, job materials, etc). Several consultants have expertise in working with students for whom English is a second language (ESL). We do not offer proofreading or editing services
We are located in 314 Bryan Hall, on Central Grounds (please note: that is not the same as Bryant Hall, in Scott Stadium!).
